1024x768 Size: 283 KB

With this on my desktop, it looks like my monitor is giving in to the heat, and melting back into a whirlpool.

Aerium

1024x768 Size: 336

Aerial terrariums, my first use of the new interior reflections of Bryce 5. The trees are another of it's new abilities.

The Barrier

1024x768 Size: 368 KB

Can you capture stars in a net, or is it just a metaphor?

 or 1600x1200 or 1440x900 (Widescreen)

Binary

1024x768 Size: 459 KB

A background your computer would choose. Humans use a 10 base, or 'decimal,' number system derived from our earliest counting devices, our fingers. Computers use 2 base, or 'binary' because they count with a series of switches: on or off.

Biohazard

1024x768 Size: 395 kb

For dangerous computers.  Not abstract, but I'm also using this gallery for non-objective subjects and design motifs.

Blossom

1024x768 Size: 332 kb

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Blue Geo

1024x768 Size: 252 kb

This didn't come out like I expected it to, but it is interesting.

Bound

1024x768 Size: 191 KB

A tortured soul, bound by her own emotions.

Carnival

1024x768 Size: 377 KB

I put off images that give me trouble, switching back to a previous problem child. I switched back to this one which accepted my tweaking much better this time.

Cubed

1024x768 Size: 202 KB

I've always love the simple geometric shapes, with that sharp clarity making your monitor look like you paid so much more than you did.

Direction

1024x768 Size: 355 KB

An unconventional wallpaper. Which direction do you follow?

DreamCatcher

1024x768 Size: 304 KB

Fascinating how this fractal not only came out looking feathery, but appearing to be affected by gravity.

Elementals

1024x768 Size: 182 kb

Complex textures, not only did I work a long time creating them, but it took 24 hours to render.

Entanglers

1024x768 Size: 312 KB

This image holds the record for taking too long. Too many blurry reflections, too many scattered and reflected light rays to calculated.

Fractal Dance

1024x768 Size: 332 KB

This one is a little bright for my taste, but it got rave reviews from a pack of 8 year olds. So I will be putting two version online.

Inferno

1024x768 Size: 193 KB

Fire! Fire! Hmm, is this an object, or abstract? It's one of those topics that could be either. I'll put it in both sections to make it easier to find.

ingress

1024x768 Size: 277 KB

I wanted the background to be a long endless tube, but the wave pattern vanished too quickly in the distance, so I have to use a cone, but it achieved the effect I wanted perfectly.

Non-muss

1024x768 Size: 244 KB

It looks like a pattern, but is actually is a 3d scene. It started as a logo design, but I am always drawn to symmetrical patterns.

Obelisks

The Orb

1024x768 Size: 116 KB

Really dark images are difficult because I need to take into account some monitors are darker than others, hiding some details, but this image can be dramatic both ways.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Pin Wheel

1024x768 Size: 415 KB

The fractal's are popular, Maybe one day I will have enough to make a separate category.

Positive Outlook

1024x768 Size: 166 KB

An experiment in the psychological effects of wallpaper. It probably won't have the same effect in countries where red isn't negative, and the language isn't read left to right.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Pseudo Placebo

1024x768 Size: 189 KB

I couldn't come up with a name for this one, so I used a 'Name Maker' I found online that generates random names for bands.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Purling

1024x768 Size: 272 KB

This is made from multi-replicating metaballs in Bryce to form a curve, grouping them, and multi-replicating that into a bowl shape. Which takes more than a few tries to get just right.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Rag Doll

1024x768 Size: 375 kb

Reaction

1024x768 Size: 302 KB

The color choice in this one gives an added bonus to LCD monitors, as it changes color when viewed from different angles.

rings

1024x768 Size: 287 KB

Spring Aerium

Spring Aerium

1024x768 Size: 288

To get blossoms on Bryce's trees, there are actually two trees that make up each one. The first with small leaves, and the second with bitmap flowers in the place of leaves.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Spurious

Ten Fingers

1024x768 Size: 85 KB

I wanted high contrast between the two hands, but not symmetrical, differences are never just black and white.

Tin Spot

1024x768 Size: 246 KB

1024x768 Size: 260 KB

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Twirl

1024x768 Size: 285 KB

I created and imported a fractal swirl into my 3d software, and tried it out on an infinite plane, and a sphere. The image was striking, so I turned it into a finished image.

Vertigo

1024x768 Size: 372 KB

The name of this kaleidoscopic version of 'Tin Spot' is derived from the illusionary affect if has on the eye. Stare at it for awhile, and see what I mean.

Winter Aerium

Winter Aerium

1024x768 Size: 151

Bryce 5's trees refused to work the way I wanted, so I used complex models in the solid glass spheres instead.  This turned out to be a mistake.  Due to the intense reflection depth rendering, this took a week to render.
